We operate from the European Union, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to everything we do. For visitors in California, the section "Your California privacy rights" below explains the same practice in the terms of the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).
When you visit the site
Our host processes technically necessary access data such as IP address, time, the page requested and the browser identifier, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in secure operation. Server logs are deleted after a short period. Host: Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Data may be processed on servers outside the United States, including in the European Union.
Near-me search and your location
For the distance search your browser asks whether to share your location. You grant this actively and can withdraw it at any time. Your location is processed only inside your browser to calculate distances. It is not sent to us or anyone else and not stored. ZIP codes and city names you type are also matched inside your browser.
Fonts, maps and other external content
We use no external fonts and no tracking scripts. Simply viewing a page opens no connection to third parties. The city maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap only after you click "Load map"; your IP address is then sent to the OpenStreetMap Foundation. "Get directions" opens Google Maps in a new page โ from there, Google's privacy policy applies.
Analytics
We use no analytics tools and no advertising cookies.
The site remembers two small preferences in your browser's local storage โ light or dark mode, and whether you closed the notice bar. They never leave your device.
When you email us
If you write to us, we use your message and address only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is settled unless the law requires us to keep them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you may complain to a data protection authority โ in Ireland the Data Protection Commission; in California the California Privacy Protection Agency (see below). A short message to team@velvetdotscreativeminds.com is enough.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you specific rights. What applies here:
- Categories collected in the last 12 months: internet or network activity data in server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) and, only if you email us, your identifiers (name, email address) and the content of your message. Your precise geolocation is not collected โ it is processed only inside your browser.
- Sources and purposes: directly from your browser or your email; used only to deliver and secure the site and to answer you.
- No sale, no sharing: we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the last 12 months. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals โ there is nothing we would need to switch off. We do not knowingly collect personal information of anyone under 16.
- Sensitive personal information: none is collected.
- Retention: server logs for a short period, emails until the matter is settled.
- Your rights: to know what we hold, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive information, and not to be discriminated against for using any of these rights. Send your request to team@velvetdotscreativeminds.com; we confirm within 10 days and answer within 45 days. We verify requests by matching them with the information we hold (for example, the email address you wrote from). You may use an authorized agent.
- Complaints: California Privacy Protection Agency, cppa.ca.gov.
Business listings
The listings contain business information from open map data and public business listings, not personal data about customers. Owners who do not want their car wash listed can write to us and we remove the entry โ no reason needed.
